There is a clause in the contract and leases that says AAG could assume the leases on the aircraft if RAH is unable to meet a certain performance metric.

AAG essentially co-signed for the aircraft.

There is not. Only in the event of a work stoppage can those leases be assumed.
This CPA was signed when AMR was in bankruptcy and their "co-signature" wasn't worth anything...also AAG didn't even exist yet. Anything else you'd like to tell us? |
Republic in ORD
There might be... I don't know for sure. But that criteria might not matter while airplanes are being delivered. Like I said, I'm not familiar with the terms.

I dunno why everyone is calling the planes leased.... aside from the Q400s, everything is owned (through financing)

Who is AAG?
But on a serious note.... Is the recruitment really that short that the possibility of near term staffing is a threat? I know about the regional level issues and have heard cockpit talk about low percentages showing up to classes but can anyone at Republic give any recent real numbers? |

Certainly there is some sort of minimum performance criteria.
For assuming the financing and taking over the aircraft? Short of a work stoppage, no. Envoy guys, you really need to quit fantasizing about "taking back" these RAH 175s. RAH would dump the 145s and move the pilots to these 175s before ever allowing that to happen. RAH has the world's largest E-jet fleet, and you don't even have a program for them yet. Also, regional pilot staffing problems -with a few exceptions- are industry-wide, so what makes you think that Envoy wouldn't have problems staffing these things, particularly with a freshly-signed concessionary contract? Focus on voting correctly...for all of the ire that I've seen from some in your group directed at Republic pilots, you people should be far more concerned about not being seen as tough-talking hypocrites. |

A recent recurrent class took a poll of the FOs who were in attendance. Every single one was looking to go elsewhere. They were unconcerned about upgrading, they just wanted to get the hell away from Republic. I personally know 5 FOs who have left in the last few weeks, and as an FO, I really don't know that many other FOs. A lack of staffing is becoming a serious issue, crew scheduling is telling pilots who request drops or trades that there are no reserves systemwide for the entire month of February and the 117 rules have left most pilots with 12 days off per month with uncommutable trips. flights are being cancelled at an alarming rate because of a lack of crews and people are showing up for SIM rides only to find out that their SIM partner quit within the last few days/weeks and there is no one to seat fill. E145 captain vacancies are not being filled. |
