Electrical fire around the GPU connection.

Hey now, take care of those E jets, aren't they coming to envoy by summers end because of lack of staffing at RAH?

envoy pilots are hoping for this.

No thread would be complete without a whiny off topic reply from RJ Pilot.

I've met a lot of great people from Eagle. Try to be more like them.

They aren't AA's airframes to take away.... RAH owns them. Now AA could pull back the flying if they chose. I don't know the details of the fixed fee contract but doing so might, or might not, involve financial penalties to AA.

There is a clause in the contract and leases that says AAG could assume the leases on the aircraft if RAH is unable to meet a certain performance metric. AAG essentially co-signed for the aircraft. However, I don't think that is very likely to happen at this point. I think RAH staffing would have to be hurting real bad for this to occur.

Back to the topic at hand, gpu was mel'd, ramper plugged in anyway, started fire, jet bridge was not up yet, crew evacuated with no injuries and got all pax safely into heated jet bridge via jet ridge stairs. Kudos to the crew on a job well done

Any damage to the aircraft or just the GPU?

Judging from the pic I saw that's out there, I'd say the plane has a few issues. The GPU door and the area around it is cooked well done
