If not I can make a good guess and it will only mark the continual demise of Eagle/Envoy. I remember after we (envoy) voted no saying that within a year another regional would open MIA flying larger RJs. Some were in complete denial then.

That is because the union sold gullable people on the "pilot shortage", the same "pilot shortage" that has been rumored since the mid 80s. It's amazing how many times they've gotten away with the same chicken little story.

Even regional managements are crying to all who will listen about a pilot shortage. Of course, the shortage is for newbies for right-seat RJ flying, not the legacies.............yet.

The real suckers, saps and simpletons are those at Envoy who let themselves be bamboozled into giving thumbs up to a second round of concessions within 2 years by a corporation that is posting the highest profits in its existence, including a jaw-dropping 1.5 billion in a single quarter.

Since this is Republic, has anyone seen the MIA base closure thread/announcement? If not we should probably start that thread.

If you look at sched first week of October you'll see E75 on Mia-ATL
JAX IND and TLH. Not every flight but a large portion. We've heard later it'll include key west Georgetown and la romana. Basically anywhere with a lot of first class pax

Probably the wrong thread for this but:
What's with the 24 month contract? Do you have to sign that as a new hire?

Miami had pretty good schedules but with the longer legs being taken by 170s I'd imagine MIA schedules will be just as bad as the rest of the system.

Hope some Republic guys will get a chance to live in base now if they're MIA commuters, it's a totally different life.
