What are the chances a new hire can get MIA?

Won't know for sure until it actually opens but word is it's going to go pretty senior, so unlikely for a new hire.

Maybe for CAs, but I can't imagine it will for current FOs. We will see in about 10 days when the bid results come out.

Did they announce any sort of route structure with it?

If not I can make a good guess and it will only mark the continual demise of Eagle/Envoy. I remember after we (envoy) voted no saying that within a year another regional would open MIA flying larger RJs. Some were in complete denial then.

Years ago, Chautauqua opened a FLL base. It went junior in both seats. 14 months later, it closed.

What's going on with there contract??? Still no improvements at all? They going to be released soon?

LaserRacer 08-05-2014 05:17 PM

Released... That's a mythical concept.

The NMB has said that they have no more time to meet with us. So no chance of release. I get the impression that regionals do not have the ability to strike any more.

The company and our new negotiating committe are getting ready to meet, but the posturing, chest puffing, and taunting hasn't finished yet. I'd be surprised if we had a TA in a year. Until then our FOs top out at 36.62/hr. Something has to give though, because the company is running out of CHQ transitions to staff our new aircraft and attrition is only getting worse
