Republic vs TSA

IMO Rule #1 for regional carriers is do not move for them. Equipment can change, pay can increase, and bases sure do change a lot now a days with all the contracts and planes changing hands. I took a gig where I live and really haven't regretted it. All in all, no one plans on being around the RJs long term, so I would recommend you don't either. Pick what best fits you currently and just go...because seniority does matter.

Couldn't agree more with this statement.

Nobody can tell you what's best for you. I chose RAH over Endeavor and some people would say I'm crazy, but it was a better choice for me and my family. I've been happy here so far and like most everyone else, I'm just trying to work towards the next better job.

I chose endeavor over republic. It really comes down to what was previously posted. If one is a home base for you...take it. Otherwise, I can't speak to republic although from what J hear from the guys I know is good news. As for endeavor, very happy. Holding in a line first month off OE! Company just waived upgrade requirements (company specific) because they couldn't fill the most recent Capt vacancy. That puts upgrades at less than 2 years

I've got friends everywhere too, sure doesn't give me the right to start trashing a company I've never worked for just because my friend tells me to...kinda moronic in principal with no work history there don't ya think!?
I worked at TSA 12 years ago, loved it there. I do not work there now so I can't speak to their current situation. Even if I "heard" it was bad from my "friends" I still wouldn't have the arrogance to spew useless condescending remarks about a place I don't even work for.
I'm starting at C5 soon, the people I've encountered there have all been first class folks. Everyone I've talked to about the place (in person or in a real conversation...not on some chat board) has had great things to say about the place. Guess I'll find out on my own.

Oh ya and the Dash was hella fun. Get on that if you can. It really is an awsome plane.
Lastly, why compare regionals to eachother. They all suck. There will be things you hate! So go somewhere you do not have to commute. Dont choose a regional for its shiny jets. Pick hat will give you the best QOL. Because again, regionals suck.

As a former C5 guy Ile give you my .02c The company had its fair share of issues. The pilot group was absolutly amazing! I had alot of fun on trips there. Some very good guys and gals. The company on the other hand I have had my doubts in the past. Going there is not a bad decision. In fact we used to joke that C5 was transstates with props. Think about it. Both small companys. Both with a single owner. Both with a large group of fun yet disgruntled pilots.

Hey, thanks for the info! That's the first legitimate, informative, and "good guy" response I've gotten in a long time on here.
Yeah, every regional has it's issues no doubt. I've worked for four of them and I'm assuming this time won't be any different. Some of the most fun I've had in the business was with TSA and Air Wisky.
I'll probably end up on the 145 since I've got a lot of experience in it but I don't care what I fly...and I know the dash would be a blast. I live in Green Bay so I'll be doing a two leg commute no matter what to get there. I'm planning on just living in a hotel for the near future.
I'm looking forward to the new friends I'm going to meet and work with. Thanks again for the good intel!
