Default All 10 survive CJ3 crash

Everyone got out before fire destroyed the jet:

https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-n...a-citation-cj3

Dan Gryder covered this in a recent video which I'll link. The CJ3 landed halfway down a 7000' runway at Pasco, WA. ADS-B data shows a highly unstabilized approach with them crossing the threshold at 143kts.

Folks, 500AGL on speed and on glidepath or go around. Do that and you're a lot less likely to be featured on the news.

The link should take you to where Dan starts talking about this accident:

Pretty sure it was a gear up landing. Great job by the crew getting it on the ground and everyone out. Gryder is a clown.

Yep, normal landing according to tower...with the exception of the gear not down...sounds like classic gear-up.

Focusing on salvaging an unstable approach can easily result in a configuration error.

Dan Gryder is the contemporary of Nancy Grace to Fox. Throw people under the bus before gathering all the fact. In other words… “Ready Fire Aim”. After the dust settles screw the people who’s characters were maligned, and off to the next victim. No apology, no attempt to make any corrections… Just “Oh well”… who’s reputation can I screw with so I can get more sponsors.

I was thinking the gear up was due to a stuck gear or some other abnormal. If it wasn’t then yeah these guys f’d up and luckily got everyone out. Dan Gryder is still a clown though.

First, Dan does not monetize his channel. He makes zero off his videos. YouTube generally won't monetize videos about accidents anyway because the sponsor's don't want that. Dan does ask for small donations to support his airborne animal rescue charity. Dan has a 1938 DC-3 that he uses for animal rescue flights to areas hit by disasters. He also sells SIC and PIC DC-3 type ratings. The SIC rating has pretty minimal requirements and last I heard costs around $4,000. PIC depends on your experience level.

A number of times I've seen Dan correct himself and issue apologies. If he calls something wrong he'll own it. The young female pilot who hit a vertical component of a factory while on short final in Idaho was a case. He initially called it wrong, but after more research explained what really happened, he even had her father on his video.

I admit Dan probably never got a "gold star" from his teacher for getting along well with others so he is disliked by many (especially senior FAA and NTSB). But along with some others he is pushing AQP for GA. He has some suggested procedures that would reduce GA accidents if everyone used them. Recently he's started doing a Sunday night summary of the previous weeks fatal accidents. And yes he usually has quite a few to cover unfortunately.
