Default Media blitzkrieg; Airline Safety Crisis

Recent close calls being presented as evidence of a system in peril. For those of us nowhere near an objective howgozit of the daily grind, smoking gun or pork pie?

Slow news cycles these days… let’s incite fear amongst the traveling public until something more important rises to the surface.

If you read the article you’ll see that these yahoos are claiming a “close call” when the one jet went around on a mile final as the other took the runway. Sensational media clickbait.

In the last couple months we’ve had some concerning events which involved the ‘Majors’ and very experienced crews instead of 200 hour seat warmers from sh!thole countries.
So we now blame the media and ignore it as inconvenient?
We’ve been so very quick to jump on Ethiopian and Emirates and Qatar events to point out their errors and we’ve been disregarding any at home events.
Ignoring that JFK has been a sh!thole to operate in and out of for years and years.
Somehow diversity has made it into the main discussion while every incident had an angry old white man at the wheel.
SMH.

And what is your opinion of ATC clearing someone onto the runway with a 747 cleared to land on a CAT III approach? No BFD? Just clickbait?

Three close calls in three months is not something to be taken lightly.

It was a 767 but that’s irrelevant. Those two jets got a hell of a lot closer than these two. That was indeed a BFD. This one isn’t even comparable.
