Float Plane Crashed Into Lake Goodwin
From Seattle Times:
A 6-year-old boy was in critical condition Saturday evening after being pulled from a float plane that crashed and flipped over in Lake Goodwin near Stanwood about 2 p.m.
Bystanders jumped into the water trying to save the boy, and they also pushed the plane toward the shore so rescuers could reach it faster, according to the Marysville Fire District.
The boy was taken to Providence Medical Center in Everett, where a nursing supervisor said late Saturday afternoon he was under observation and might be transferred to a Seattle hospital.
The boy was underwater for 25 minutes and may have been helped by near-freezing water temperatures that slowed his metabolism, according to KING-TV news, citing emergency responders.
There were three planes flying over the lake before the crash.
The pilot of the downed plane escaped with minor or no injuries and went to the hospital to check on the boy, said Kristen Thorstenson, spokeswoman for the Marysville Fire District.
Emergency workers brought a rescue boat to the lake and apparently launched from a campground to reach the crash site near the north shore, said Kyle Schrawyer, an employee at the nearby Lake Goodwin Resort.
The plane remained upside down, its wheels and pontoons sticking up, long after the crash.
The Snohomish County sheriff's dive team also participated in the rescue.

Too bad the boy's body wasn't colder, it could have saved him. I watched a show that this woman skier was under water for 2 or 4 hours. Someone finally pulled her out and did some kind of revival technique for a frozen body. She is alive today with not a single side effect(she is working as a doctor). The show was on the history channel or something like that and called 'Back from the Dead'. Sorry for the tangent but I wonder if they could have saved these souls.

Poor kid... It does appear to be a gear down flip over from the pictures.
