EVA 747 vs. Eagle ERJ

Anyone else see the EVA Cargo 747 that struck the tail of an AE ERJ today in ORD? Didn't quite slice it off but did some damage. I haven't seen an article about it yet.

The question will be, did ground tell EVA to give way to the ERJ or not, because I think that will point the blame. However the blame will still get put on EVA since by the pics it looks like the right wheels were on the center line, which means they were cognitive of the fact they were trying to get around the ERJ. Not sure how it could be Eagles fault, except maybe that it takes 15 minutes to get rampers at ORD.

When G18 has no rampers (which is every time an aircraft pulls in) the tail sticks out onto the Alpha taxiway. This causes ground delays constantly at ORD. Maybe this will be the nudge they need to get some rampers out there when the planes arrive...

Boston was an ASA 900

Delta hit ASA correct?? So we have had 3 RJs hit by non RJ aircraft, two of which were foreign airlines.

Agreed on sticking out, and delays, but bull$h!t on the rest. American Eagle does dynamic manning, which means nobody was probably assigned to the gate, were doing other flights, or something else. Don't blame the rampers, blame the stupid system.

I don't think they are doing the Dynamic Manning anymore- it didn't last long. Either way, they are no less timely now than before.

I don't see how Ground could be blamed for this. No matter what clearance they give you, it is your responsibility to not hit other airplanes when taxiing around.

I have a real nice pic of it. Damn near took the rudder completely off. I saw all the passengers get off and everyone seemed just fine.
