Yes, kids in that position (most of which didn't choose to grow up in that environment) certainly would get it extremely bad, but I think even most people that could be well dressed, well educated, good job, etc, would be in a whole world of hell unless they had A LOT of power.

This kid is quite confusing. He has some money, but he really doesn't have THAT much in comparison to CEO's and politicians who routinely get away with things, and it really can't see how he has so much "power/pull". In the past month alone he has committed and been charged with a litany of offenses all over the US and Canada. Usually people that commit crimes on a residence/work visa will be shipped back. I have a friend from India in the US who would need to return within a month of losing his job if he could not find another one. And I would wager that India and Canada (even though it is our neighbor) are ranked similarly on the scale of tolerance for what one can do.

Never tried the crap, but I thought pot was supposed to make one mellow. Guess not!

He is not unlike many other folks in the entertainment business. Fame and fortune as is said; tends to send folks into a tailspin. I am not sure why so many folks are piling on him to de deported though. There have been and currently are many entertainment folks from other countries that did far worse and there was not the uproar to deport them.

I surely don’t condone what he has done or what he will do. He is very immature and his father is living his life with him (as in no help as a role model). He is a young jerk. But there are a whole lot more in the entertainment fields beside him and some have done far worse things and they are considered heroes and role models.

Could it be there are fewer backlashes encountered in the public and media when you want to deport someone from Canada than from some other countries? If so, why would that be?

I don't know, but maybe it's because airline folks are very sensitive to Canada's extremely strict rules about having DUIs, etc. and needing to get them expunged before being allowed to enter as a crew member. It takes money and time to jump through those hoops, from what I've heard.

Bieber Could Face Prison Over 'Pot' Plane - NBC News

If the pilots felt they needed to wear O2 masks to not inhale the pot smoke - how could this NOT be considered interfering with a flight crew?

A year in the "big house" and plenty of soap bars on the shower floor should be of some help.

He probably won't be deported as the occupants of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave don't want to risk being eaten alive by millions of teenage girls descending on DC, acting like the Langoliers from the Steven King novel... Not to mention the money he is generating for the government...
