KBED Hanscom Field Crash

Saw a very small article on CNN's website about this tonight. I did a little digging to make sure it wasn't the media doing what they usually do about speculating and found this article in the Boston Globe. They say it is a small plane crash, but the article is refrencing a GIV.

My gut feeling is bad news. I'm praying for everyone on board.

I just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention.

Lewis Katz, co-owner of The Inquirer, dies in plane crash

Anyone know the particulars on who owned/operated that jet and where it's based?

I've got a buddy who flies corporate out of Hanscom (I think, haven't spoken with him in a year or so), I hope it wasn't him.

By its arrivals/departures history, it looks safe to say that it was not a KBED-based G-IV.

Very sad.... RIP to the victims and condolences to the families and friends. :(

https://twitter.com/bizjet101 most of my info posted here, but Katz (ex NJ Devil's owner) was co-owner of the jet - it was registered to SK travel LLC has 2 principals: Emil W. Solimine & Lewis Katz both from Livingston NJ..

Aircraft remains are located in gully against a berm, 2000 feet off the end of runway 2000' - part in water, only part not consumed by fire is the cockpit.

On board 2 pilots, 1 cabin attendant, 4 passengers.

Sorry, 2000 feet off runway 11 at KBED.

Witness told NTSB aircraft never left the runway, hit localizer, sheared off landing gear, thru a fence, hit berm in gully. Confirm 100 % N121JM Gulf G-IVSP.

I just looked up Hanscom, looks like RW 11 is 7000' long.
