UAL 777 HNL-GUM Diverts to Midway Island
I've been hoping for more info too. From the small snippets on the news it sounded like the crew did one hell of a job. Smoke, fire, lost comms (or all of the above) are the things I've read.

From what I heard (2nd hand) is an avionics cooling fan burned up, which resulted in some avionics shedding.

Glad to hear that the outcome of the emergency was positive. I've always wanted to visit Midway Island, being a WWII history fan, but I'd not want to be forced to visit under such an event as that.

One thing the news reports all forgot to mention was the air stairs in midway reach to 3 feet below the door of a 777, so everyone had to make a leap of faith and then climb back over it.
