I just love the media's mis-use of the term DRONE. A drone is an autonomous craft that is not directly controlled by a human.

These R/C quad (and hex) copters such as the DJI Phantom and E-Flite Blade QX-350 are not even close to being "Drones"... Micro UAS is a much better term.

Check out the AMA web site- "Pinker vs NTSB". It might be possible that these could be considered "aircraft" i/a/w 14 CFR Part 1 and thus the "operator" could possibly be found in violation of 14 CFR 91.13 (civil penalty)...

When I read or hear someone use the term "drone" I instantaneously know all I need to know. They're an idiot and not at all understanding what they are actually talking about.
