TSA lines: soft target

More irony from the agency that keeps air travel safe. There have been, in the news, stories of long lines at security checkpoints due to understaffing and tighter security checks.

How much carnage could a guy with a vest inflict on the queue waiting to be screened? Or a few guys with bombs in suitcases?

Any large group anywhere is a soft target. But since big airports have a significant armed security presence, they are not quite as soft a target as other venues.

Also since the objective of such attacks is ultimately media coverage, they are more inclined to select high-profile events (ie boston marathon) to achieve more buck for the bang. Or significant dates.

And believe it or not, certain well known groups got VERY major blowback from their own support base for indiscriminate targeting of muslims, women, and children in particular over the last decade. Note that in Paris they hit a rock concert...probably no small children, few if any muslims, but plenty of degenerate infidels at an event like that.

Agreed, an airplane is old news, contemplate a coordinated attack that shuts down a major international airport for days. Weeks?

The objective of such attacks is to damage our economy and disrupt our way of life. Seems they are succeeding, considering the effect the esteemed TSA's efforts to keep us all safe. The conspicuous acts of violence are a tactic, not a strategy. While the killing of infidels is a benefit, ultimately, terrorism is a political act.

Attacking transportation systems is time honored because it is effective. Bombing a soccer game or shooting up a concert is tactically identical to blowing up a train station or airport. Strategically, the latter is much more effective due to the economic impact of disrupting transportation rather than entertainment.

A bomb in an empty departure hall at a US airport that kills or injures nobody would result in utter chaos throughout the air transportation system. But the more the merrier, yah? Here, in the name of safety, TSA itself is creatiing masses of tightly packed infidels outside the sterile area. The target exists; TSA is making it meatier.
