Quote: You sir understand the supreme hypocrisy of airline pilot hiring in 2018 and it is not just isolated to ExpressJet and united. At my DCI shop we have people being rejected by delta, some on the second day by the shrink and being sent back to fly delta passengers on delta painted airplanes, of course for pennies on the dollar. You can not square it morally. You can not square it ethically. In the mean time though they will dabble in human engineering projects like "propel" and whatever united is calling their ab initio experiment.
Delta can't help it, their HR department is run by a bunch of idiots. No common sense.

This is the basic problem with pilot recruiting. Pilots should be hired through the CP's office with approval by the CP or an assistant. HR folks don't know what we know about our peers. They're too focused on personalities and volunteerism and give no weight to ability and experience.

What’s United’s an initio experiment?

The three on the bottom of that list are flight schools and colleges participating in a CPP that’s a bit different than the regional airlines.

The Metropolitan State and UND CPP programs are different from the Lufthansa flight training CPP. They still require successful participants to go to a United regional airline. The Lufthansa flight school one is straight to UAL.

Thanks, I wasn’t familiar with the Metropolitan State and UND CPP programs.

I doubled down on my efforts to leave when I failed my first Hogan. I achieved my goal and wasn't around to do the retake a year later. Thanks United for getting me out of your system! I'm at Alaska, like it here.

My classmates from May of 2005 start CPP class in mid October.
