Quote: And that ALV+15 extends down to non international categories though.

And it goes to 80's earlier point, we negotiated to end trip parking and then signed off on ALV+15. It's like negotiating language to prevent RAH types gaming our scope clause and then gave them an exemption.
So does the extra pay for reserves, remember that was one of our goals in negotiation but it didn't come free. Bargaining not demanding

The cost to the company to put me on reserve under the TA with the new reserve ALV will be around 103K in straight pay at 116 an hour.

I'd rather gotten 122 an hour to make 103K on 70 hours and not given up work rules that reduced the number of pilots needed.

And I'd rather work on only Tuesday.

Good post FTB.

Cool. Me too.

And that's a good thing because it will increase staffing.

I call Wednesday!
Quote: As you should.

I saw 2 grown "professional" men acting like schoolboys today at the PTC roadshow. They had to be physically pulled apart. We should all be embarrassed.

Actually, it was pretty funny. I couldn't tell who yelled dxckhead.

I thought the guy in uniform was completely out of line. They had to drag him from the room.

I think he might have been a yes voter
Quote: Elvis, you missed my point. Everybody at DL makes more in compensation than everybody at DCI. Our overhead is huge. it's not just the pilots. Answer me this; do you think DL would fly those airplanes if they could make money on them ? My contention is that if DL thought they could make money flying a blimp they would do it.
Finis - you missed my point as well. Pilot costs are negligible compared to fuel. I think the company simply prefers the flexibility they get with contractors that can be easily cut vice Delta pilots that they must keep. It's been so routine to outsource that they've forgotten how to not do it.
Quote: I am absolutely going to look for loopholes in any TA. When I sign any contract, I look at the fine print. It is how you protect yourself. It is not about clouding your ability. It is analyzing all the pro and cons to come to an intelligent decision. Why all the condescending post? Guys are just looking at protecting themselves long term.
No they aren't. they are target fixated on one... single... item... And nothing else. If they were looking long term they would realize that this is a slam dunk yes vote.. especially for the bottom of the list.. Every single guy that I have talked to that is around my seniority or above says pretty much the same thing. "This contract does little for the upper part of the list, but is a no brainer great deal for the bottom.." Every... single... one.

I look for loopholes too. And I have looked very very hard at section 1. I don't see that which isn't there.

And I apologize if my posts come across as condescending.

Absolutely.....But I bet they make more money on them by having the ability to whipsaw them around. Why pay someone $130/$70 when you can pay them $70/$30. Get to senior of a pilot group and just create another regional where the pilots have to start over at year 1 rather than at year 12-18. An example is the creation of Compass rather than give those airplanes to Mesaba or Pinnicle.

If Delta could outsource more/larger airplanes they would because others would fly them cheaper than you guys are.
