Over the past few months I've had the oportunity to fly multiple 1940's, 1950's and 1960's era aircraft, the oldest being a 1945 Piper L-4J. Being 26 and growing up in the generation I have, when I started flying I would have never thought I would fly a 66 year old plane. So I was just wondering for some BS talk what is the oldest plane some of you have flown.

Flew a friends cub once (not sure of the year). Other than that 70's vintage C-310's and the oldest jet was a 79 Citation 2 with 13k TT on it

Got a back-seat ride in a 1943 or 1944 P-51D.

I think the oldest T-38 we have on the ramp is a 1963 model.

(I have opined that the T-38 should be renamed from 'Talon' to 'Cougar,' as she is pushing 50, still looks hot, and eats 24-year-olds for lunch).

I'm jelous of them all! The only reason I've been so lucky is because my wife is an assistant at a living classic air museum in Oregon. I find flying these classical beauties to be just as rewarding as any modern plane I've been fortunate enough to flown.

Would that be the Evergreen Museum in McMinnville?
