I did the "High Deductible" plan for myself and my dependent child. Worked out well for me.
Agree. I'm still active and on the Buy Up plan. About $350/month. Buy Up very expensive in retirement.

Prob do the same Hi Deduct in retirement. Max out of pocket protects you from a big expense.

As an active pilot, spouse/children can't have medical insurance without you having insurance. It's all about YOU! For retirees, the pilot retiree may have transitioned to Medicare but a spouse/children can still be covered, thus more options than for active pilots.
