Let us know if this is an anomaly for you, or a trend. I had an Alaska ticket I kept resubmitting once, and they kept denying it, so I gave up. It wasn't particularly cheap, but it never happened again.

I just had miles post for a flight two days ago but it was a first class ticket.

Quote: I’ve only had one ticket denied, and it was a “Y” class (Economy.) As an aside, it was more expensive than a recent First Class ticket that was was of a further distance.
Since the denial, I have had a FC ticket where the miles were posted. Perhaps it’s only a Economy class ticket problem. Anyone with similar or different results?
I had a similar mileage problem with a flight a couple weeks ago that you all are talking about. Just had a lengthy phone conversation with the United 1K desk. Recap...

FDX Global Travel booked the ticket in Y, FDX receipt shows Y. United agent says ticket was booked Y and could see that, however on the United receipt it showed booking class as PN. United agent was not sure how or why the class changed on the receipt and was unsure of it being a FedEx problem or a United one. After being put on hold for a while, they were able to deposit the correct miles in my United account.

I've got a couple flights on them next month, so we'll see how it goes. Maybe keep an eye on any United Y class tickets for a few weeks. Hopefully, just a one time issue, as it looks like all of us that had a problem were within a few days of each other.

Feb 10th had a back- end DH deviation ticket on United booked through corporate travel. First flight gets delayed as I am at the ticket counter in XXX. I will miss my connection home. Agent asks if I want to press on or just try again tomorrow. I say try tomorrow. She starts typing and says “Do you work for us?”

“Nope”

“Hmmm...it shows you are non-revving.”

“No ma’am, that is a paid ticket “

She had to do some workaround to get me a confirmed seat on the flights the next day, and I have not recieved credit for the miles yet.

Hopefully it was just a glitch for a few days, but I’ll be vigilant going forward.

Anyone have a coach ticket after 10 Feb that had miles post to their account?

I’ve been thinking about this a bit more. I think that if corporate Travel is booking ID65s in some cases, isn’t that a violation of industry agreements? United is obviously treating some of these tickets as non-revenue.

The pilot can choose to Jumpseat or non rev to position or de-position, but the company can’t ask you to do that, I believe.

That’s the basis behind the reasoning why you can’t Jumpseat on a flight you had previously booked a revenue ticket. This would be a similar type of case, wouldn’t it? Can’t travel non-rev for company business purposes—must be revenue when the company does it.

I sure hope this is an anomaly at United and not a new policy. If it’s intended to be non-mileage earning travel, then it’s only a matter of time before AA and DL tag along and stop giving us our miles for traveling on their airline. This would be an extremely sad day for all FedEx pilots.

UPDATE:

I called the 1K desk direct line and the nice lady input my missing miles ( early feb Y-class ticket). Don’t know if this is because I’m a 1K, or because there was a glitch they are correcting for.

I don’t think ual is trying to deny miles, that would result in lost business as we would flock to dal and aa. I think the increase in business at dal and aa would prevent them from following UaL’s path, but what do I know, I don’t run an airline....

Update: Another economy class ticket on United and no miles credit. Indianapolis to Cleveland via O’Hare. “Y” class ticket, even upgraded to First Class by United on the Chicago to Cleveland leg. No miles credit. However, a First Class ticket for a deadhead from Cleveland to San Diego a few days earlier, bingo. Miles credited to account.

I just got a booking and it shows U class. Not sure what this is, but it might be the problem. It's Monday, I'll see if it credits.
