So he filled out an app and summited a resume with his TT. Which Spirit's recruiters can see, he passed a phone interview, and gets called in for a face to face interview, just to be turned down because he has too much TT? You actually believe that? If he was are called in, they want to hire him. He messed up somewhere else during the interview.

Note that my earlier post said "If that's true, I would say absolutely apply." So I don't disagree with you. I don't have any other details. He did just get an offer though from one of those cargo companies with whom he interviewed so it's a moot issue as far as his welfare is concerned. To the original question though, why wouldn't someone with no ATP apply? The worst they can say is no.
