Hey guys, I'm apart of the RJet cadet program currently around 900tt. The HR person I've been in contact with says Republic can count up to 100 hours of level D simulator time towards your total for your ATP mins. Looking in the regs, it can only be used if it is apart of an approved training course. I have also heard they can take you 50 hours prior to your minimums because you get that with your training. My question is... can I use my current sim time in addition to (if this is even correct) the 50 hours they give you?

I maybe wrong, but I was told they prefer the full 1000 or 1500hrs or be as close as 15hrs toward these depending on which you qualify for. The ATP and sim time might get you up to the required minimum. My recruiter told me some (a very vague answer) level D can be used. Not sure how much. I have a jet type and they would not even consider my level D sim time.

My point of contact said they want you at 1494 if you’re a 1500 hour candidate. FWIW.

As pointed out above, what the regs allow and what an airline does can be two different things.

No, you cannot.

In short, if you need to count towards your total time, you can only use 25 hours of the sim time in your initial airline training.

You can get hired with 1475 hrs and use 25 hours from your sim/training to count towards your total time.

You would receive an ATP certificate with a pilot-in-command limitation on your type rating because you technically don't have 1500 hours.

I thought Republic had a program where they paid for your last 100 hours though if you committed to them?

I have about 23 hours of level D sim time that would be considered apart of an aporoved training course. I appreciate all the replys!

They do, but I've been told that comes out of your bonus.

To go along with this, I have my 75 hours of sim instrument time IF i count 15 hours of FTD time I did for my 141 commercial pilot course. Does RPA allow us to count some FTD time towards the 75 hours sim instrument?

Gonna go with a hard no on this. FTD time counts for effectively nothing.

You can use up to 100 hours of level D sim towards TT as long as it's part of an approved 121/125/135/142 training course. If you're flying a level d sim in these courses, you will be well aware of it.

§ 61.159 Aeronautical experience: Airplane category rating.
(a) [...]
(6) Not more than 100 hours of the total aeronautical experience requirements of paragraph (a) of this section or § 61.160 may be obtained in a full flight simulator or flight training device provided the device represents an airplane and the aeronautical experience was accomplished as part of an approved training course in parts 121, 135, 141, or 142 of this chapter.

Do you think that sim time in a Redbird FMX during an approved Part 135 training course counts towards mins?
