Interview checkride ???

I just interviewed with Flexjet and wasn't pleased with my 10 minute sim ride but everything else went well.

I'm a 4000 hour king air pilot and the check-ride was in a Challenger 300 sim. The only real problem I had was holding altitude...I was trying to fly the trim but I ended up all over the place. The ILS was fine and on the V1 cut I guess it wasn't too bad but was having trouble keeping my speed down and was maybe 10 to 15 kts over V2.

Question is...how picky are they about the sim ride?

How much is "all over the place"?
What is "flying the trim"?

If you get hired the performance was acceptable. If you don't get hired it might have been the sim but unless they specifically tell you that it's an unknown.

I do hope you've done research about the situation at Flexjet, if not go to the fractional section of these forums. I would be shocked if you didn't get a job offer. There's a reason they're having a very difficult time recruiting pilots and it's not all because of the pilot shortage.

Almost half their pilots (former union supporters) want the hell outta there, and they already have numerous uncrewed jets sitting everyday (mostly Phenoms). You'll get assigned to fly on days off a lot, and you have no protections, no ability to call in fatigued, no ability to write up Mx problems unless permission is given from the mothership. And they're trying to find ways around the 14 hour duty limitation.

Be sure you've done due diligence before working there.
