I am starting class and the atp/ctp course within the next month. What should I be doing beforehand? I just got all my paperwork submitted on SkyWest Online, got my medical appointment scheduled, and just purchased Sheppard Air for the ATP written. What else should I/can I be doing?

Anyone know of a list of what to pack for training? I’ve read the SKW welcome packet regarding required paperwork to bring, but that’s it.

Spend time with family and friends. Take a trip. Go get drunk, if you're into that. Play golf. Visit family again. Spend some more time with friends.

I started the CTP-ATP course in August so my perspective is recent.
Shepherd Air -- try to be around step 3 when the CTP course starts. If you can get your hands on the Limits and Memory items, having those down cold would help out when you are in Systems. Lots of homework and flow memorization and having that down before would be very beneficial. The company is pretty tight about access to documents / manuals so even when you are in the CTP-ATP course you will not have access. You will be a real employee (not greyed out on the portal) when you start INDOC. After INDOC they give you 4 days to do 32 + CBTs on aircraft systems. You will start off trying to really learn the stuff then you will be 4 hours into your first hard CBT (like electrical) and realize that pace won't work. I marked several I want to go back and review but there really is no time. I will eventually - but after you finish those 32 you have another 11 that you have to get done by the end of Systems. The good news is if you like this stuff - it is not hard to study. Okay - got to go - good luck to you!

after indoc? they're almost the next day, almost never more than one week from the end of indoc. this isn't like piedmont or transtates where training takes 3-6 months.

Random question about upgrade class dates... can you defer to the next class?

Anyone have a packing list? I have no idea what to bring besides the required documents and paperwork, all of which I’ve made copies of. This will be my 4th time on an airline (I rarely fly commercial). I start next Monday with the CTP course

Business casual clothes for all days in class or sims. Comfortable clothes for everything else. I brought my laptop. Maybe bring something to connect to the TV so you can watch Netflix on the weekends and chill.
