Start training with Mesa soon and recently received my hotel information for my stay in Phoenix. I will be at the Sheraton Phoenix Airport Hotel Tempe. I'm trying to find out information about the area and the hotel but not having any luck, from an airline perspective.

For those whom have stayed there, primarily for training, what was your experience like? Did the hotel have complimentary breakfast, wifi, etc...

Were there places around the hotel within walking distance?

I'm obviously from out of town, so I'm curious about how the next four months during training will go.

I would say look up the hotel and see what’s around it. That’s the first time I’ve seen someone getting a Sheraton for training. Welcome aboard! Wha airframe are you choosing?

I'll be on the CRJ. I looked up the hotel, but from the information I see, things like complimentary wifi or breakfast comes at a cost if paid for through the room... Curious if Mesa does this or we have to pay out of pocket for 3-4 months for hotel wifi?

I believe you receive a breakfast voucher or the dining room knows that Mesa pilots receive free breakfast. WiFi is also complimentary.

Thank you. Just trying to budget during training. I get that most airlines don't provide meals during training, but every hotel I've been to in my life provided at minimum complimentary breakfast. So, if this one didn't or the airline wasn't helping us out, it'd be good to know, before I get there and have to shell out more money than I'm anticipating during the 3-4 months of training.

No, he just stays at the typical Mesa hotels. The kind with powdered eggs. He will feel right at home here.

And stains on the walls and carpets, A/C units that rattle, beds hard as a rock. Welcome to Mesa hotels.

Mesa is the first company I've flown for where I'm reluctant to put my toothbrush down on the counters of the 'hotels' they put us in.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even look forward to the few decent layovers we have - primarily because of the hotels.

Those who haven't flown for other regionals don't have the benefit of comparison. So for what it's worth, that's my opinion.

Sure would be nice if more of us filled out complaints

I’ve sent quite a few in. Maybe we CAs need to start refusing these dumps like ICT, DSM, and ABQ just to name a few. Of course there are MANY more. I’m not expecting ExpressJet level hotels, but Mesa needs to step up big time.
