A naked human being a handful of floors up in a private room... common sense needs to be brought back to police work and society in general. Give the police the discretion to act rationally. You shouldn't be looking into hotel windows unless you are willing to see people in hotel rooms.

It appears that what Mr Collins is saying isn’t the law. While states do differ in indecency laws you are not guaranteed any privacy when you stand naked in a window. In fact there are convictions for similar offenses.

All the cockpit attorneys like to espouse how they know the law better than lawyers. What is interesting is when I get to be entertained with another pilots skewed view of legal issues and the world. These same pilots are scrambling to find a customs form prior to landing. When asked why they don’t have global they admit to having had convictions on their record that keep them from being eligible global. The irony is totally lost on them. Just because you have been prosecuted and found guilty doesn’t make you a legal expert.

I wonder if this hotel passed inspection by ALPA hotel committee? Security Committee?

We can't have ALPA approved hotels exposing our member pilots to this sort of risk, and embarrassment.

Are you being facetious? I sure hope so.

It was the member exposing his member that got all of this started. Keep your pantaloons on and you are okay. Not sure ALPA can help you if you are too dense to know standing naked in window is a bad idea. And if you need ALPA to protect you from such bad decisions in any hotel you probably shouldn’t be a UAL pilot.

What’s the minimum article(s) of clothing, and exactly what body parts should be covered for the general public to feel comfortable when they view me in MY provided room?

I disagree with your tact that it’s my responsibility to make Peeping Toms comfortable. The intrusion of privacy laws are on the books for a reason - people should assume a right to privacy in their domicile. Maybe CO has no such law? ALPA is rolling over big time when they avoid asserting that a provided hotel room demands the same level of privacy.

I hope Collins wins big as the ruling would help us all.

Bingo. I hope he wins enough to retire well and have the last laugh. He can then wander off with his middle digit raised in salute to some of his brothers.

Sorry but if you expose yourself, get arrested then narrowly escape prosecution your not going to get a big settlement. This lawsuit is a look I’m innocent play by his attorney and will likely cost him money. My advice close your shades, behave normal and contribute to your 401k....
