TOTD wasn't major specific, so here's the new improved major specific TOTD.

First nomination - Myself for pulling out the earbuds while sitting 4th on a completely full 3 hour flight. Clueless new guy trick. Yea I'm a complete clutz and my "help" usually just adds more work, but it was pretty insensitive to not even try to use that time to learn a little something about what goes on in the back. The next time I ended up sitting 4th, I acted differently and had a thoroughly enjoyable flight "helping" and learning something new about how our crews do things enroute.

I've heard enough "galley talk" from sitting in the actual seats and the crew room and I already know how to pour a soda and push a cart. I'm happy to lend a hand if it's asked of me, it's their space after all, but I don't see how it would be interesting in the slightest.

As long as you don’t grab a snack basket and start handing out snacks during the flight like a major tool bag FO did when I was DHing a few years ago.

While I was deplaning he had donned white rubber gloves and was helping the FAs clean while saying goodbye to the pax. I was so incensed that I waited to talk to him on the jetway and asked him what he thought his actions in the public eye did to uphold our profession. Completely clueless.

In the olden days on the 440, the F/O would go back and do meal set-ups so the single F/A had some chance of getting out and back in, the rare chicken in 40 minutes. BYO (No alcohol service)

This reminds me of those posts you see on Facebook humble bragging about feeding a homeless person or something.

I am going to guess you don't spend enough time on the Jetblue forums when they talk about things you have to do to keep travel benefits.

(And yes, there is something wrong with that)

Oh no. I know all about the “blue gloved juicers” as they call them over there.

On my IOE at EA, the flight attendants had stories like that on the Martin 4-0-4.

I’ll let a JBA pilot tell it but basically the company requires you to help clean the cabin.
