The issue is with the terminology that the schedulers use. They call and say they are placing you on "conditional reserve". There is no such thing in the contract. However, the contract does allow them to pull your flying from you for any reason and either: a) assign you different flying; b) release you from duty without pay; c) place you on reserve for the remainder of your duty period at which point you are pay protected for the flying that was pulled from you. It's a real bad deal and our negotiators will not accept that being in the next contract.
