Quote: So in few words, holding a line is like winning the lottery. How much do u typically fly in reserve ?
Holding a line this month in the 145 with 72 hr credit and 11 days off in DFW is FAR from winning the lottery

Is that a relief or composite line? Surely not a hard line.

That’s very much a normal line. There aren’t many of them, but they happen. The loss of CDO’s has had negative consequences for the quality of lines.

the Miami lines are my favorite on the 145.

They do some of the best NY and Chicago flying as fly-through. Of course it’s still miserable compared to even the worst lines on the 175 but that’s the way things are

Dallas is a hole

If you find yourself staring down the barrel of an 11 d/o line, I’d just bid composite. You can get weekends, holidays etc if you’re proactive about requesting it and will end up working very little (6 hour 4 days etc) for what you credit.
