Quote: I've had my apps in and been updating them to endeavor, envoy, republic, psa, and skw. But now skw is the only one to have given me a date. Yeah living in ATL I probably have other options. I haven't applied to piedmont or gojet yet (I dont even know how long they will be in business), but really its endeavor or bust if I want to not commute. So I have just kind of settled on the fact that I will most likely be commuting no matter which regional I pick unless I sit around and wait to get eith endeavor.

skw seems to have some pretty quick upgrade times which is a huge plus and a lot of pilots who go to SWA which is my end goal.
I wouldn't wait, unless it's just a month or less. No doubt get on, get in. Get your time and move on.

Never plan on a regional career. There is a reason LCA leave even as the highest income pilots on the SL.

Not to mention, while they’re waiting, classes are apparently filled up at 160 pilots a month until November.

SCAs are the highest paid IMO. LCAs get a small over ride only when something gets dropped on to their awarded flying.

Yes. Also the opportunity to block a lot more instructor time than line flying typically permits.

But if you're looking for resume bullets, I'd say LCA before SCA if you have a choice on that.

Commuting Policy?
Whats the current commuting policy? I couldnt find anything on the SKW website or even a recruiter email. I could have sworn I found it on here the other day but I havent been able to locate it again.

Im researching regionals to apply to next year and plan to commute for at least the first couple years

Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

What is the current commuting policy at SkyWest? There is nothing on the website and I cant find anything on here that isn't prior to 2020. I plan to commute for the first few years of my career so this is one of the biggest factors in choosing my regional. Any info would be appreciated.

No policy, just try to get there or call out. Don't sit home 1000+ miles away on a 2 hour call out and you'll be fine...
You have commuter benefits on UA. DL, AA and AS are dependent on your domicile and equipment.

Are commuter hotels provided at all?

No, it’s been talked about. But I doubt it will come…

just get a crashpad. It’s $200/mo which is well worth it to know that you’ll always have a bed in base on a bad weather night when all of the hotels in base are oversold.
