Absolute accident waiting to happen. Went in there a few times. Always extremely sketchy.

We have been serving JQF for years. Pretty straight forward. Narrow? Big deal. Are you referring to the towers scattered through out? Fly the published and use common sense.

That’s a pretty powerful statement you’re making there. Could you elaborate on what happened each time that made your experience sketchy or unsafe? Are you barely missing towers on your visual approaches, do you normally struggle to stay on centerline or possibly you’re referring to the tight parking spot we pull into? I’ve been in there probably over 100 times and while the airport, like many others across the country, has a few threats, I’ve never once felt unsafe.

There's already been a base in NC for 4 years with a short 100' wide runway, seems like it's been safe enough. I think the bigger problem with Concord is the lack of ramp space.

So concord has been officially been announced? If, so when would bids begin for there? Any chance a Feb class has opportunity to bid for it?

Have they likely already hired for these 45 new routes or will a new hiring wave start?

It always amazes me to fly with professional pilots who are insecure or nervous about landing on a 6000' long runway or 100' wide runway. Come on guys, if you are nervous about either of those, you need to hone your skills or find a new profession.

If you are appropriately aware of the visual cueing of a "narrower than usual" runway then you can compensate for that mentally.

As stated above, Concord has some threats (i.e. towers, taxiways, parking on the ramp with multiple aircraft, etc). All of which can be mitigated with a solid approach brief and appropriate situational awareness. The worst issue I have had going into Concord was a controller giving a bad visual clearance into pattern traffic.

I'm not sure we hire for routes per se. However, we did add a second class in February that was previously unannounced. Those spots line up pretty well with the new routes starting in May/June.

I believe that class had more to do with attrition than route additions.

The 4 classes in Jan/Feb will cover this, possibly a march class to cover more attrition. It sounds like a lot of new routes but most of those only run a couple times a week. To put it into perspective, we now have about 10% more total routes than WN but they have 10X more crews.
