Quote: How many airplanes in SWA’s fleet are owned outright?

The vast majority. 95 percent? A few are on capitol leases. I would have to find the fleet numbers to check my math but it's a bunch.

The most recent year end report available on the site (2018) says for -700’s, 396 owned 116 leased. -800’s, 200 owned, 7 leased. 31 MAX8’s, all owned.

Thanks for looking that up. So 17 percent leased at the end of 2018. Some of those were returned and some of the owned 700s were retired. Probably about the same percentage now but our fleet has actually shrunk in net aircraft not even including the max.
