Quote: The Coronavirus Panic is the best thing to happen to the 50 seat market. Mark my word. My inside sources tell me furloughed mainline pilots will be lining up at headquarters. begging for a job in a few weeks. In the interest of national security air service will remain in olace but with much smaller capacity. 50 seaters will be supported by the feds as essential air service that allows for reasonable passenger health screenings while maintaining service. Your regional airline job will soon be the best thing that ever happened to your career.
interesting theory since TSAs shutdown is moved up to April 1st......if 50 seat jets are the saviors this certainly doesn’t show it.

by 8 months.....46 of those savior 50 seat jets gone in 2 weeks. it’s probably very lucky for other 50 seat operators that TSA was on its way out......

There will be some of everything parked when the April/May schedule is announced, but I’d much rather be working for an airline with several aircraft types than one that just flys 50 seat jets. I’m not wishing anyone get canned right now, but the 50 seat only guys are either going to come out OK, or really take it in the teeth. United just announced that the reduction is now 60%, so there will be plenty of pilots with nothing to do for a while. This is ugly, and keeps getting worse.

seeing as it was 70% earlier in the week, that is an improvement.

Easy 3rd grade math says otherwise.
I’m skeptical about it too. Just what I had heard from management.

"The news, detailed in a leaked Trans States memo and confirmed by United, comes as another United regional affiliate, ExpressJet Airlines, discloses plans to add 36 ERJ-145s to its fleet. The routes Trans States currently operates will be replaced by other United Express operators."

Like I said, tough pill for the heavy drivers to swallow. There's going to be lots of irrational bitterness and personal attacks forthcoming. The 50-seat market looks strong, very strong, in these conditions. relatively speaking.

you quoted a memo that says the jets are going to ExpressJet in 2021 not April 1st.

you just go on living with your rose colored glasses and pick and choose the words you want to hear........it’ll keep you safe.
