I suspect a number of airlines may reject the bailout if they feel that the strings cost more than the benefits.

No more too big to fail.

American will have to take it. Their reserves are simply to small to hold on. United maybe. Delta and Southwest could survive but it would be a bloodbath of furloughs to make that happen. Gary is not going to blow his wad of cash to keep every employed. He also know M&A capacity during a downtown will be severely diminished if he is a puppet in a string.

Hold on. The next few weeks are going to very telling.

There are both available, with various strings attached

Based on the Ask Gary and latest Covid-19 Update I think they're in the process of backing out of wanting to take the money. I just hope that decision doesn't come at the expense of the employees here, because as another poster said, it will be a blood bath. At least 6 months buys some time.

Would be a bad look to ask for money, promise no furloughs in return, decline the money, and put thousands on the street

You're tellin' me. I'll gladly eat my words if I'm wrong, but that's the vibe I'm getting.
