The right thing to do? Nobody knows..
Based on the Ask Gary and latest Covid-19 Update I think they're in the process of backing out of wanting to take the money. I just hope that decision doesn't come at the expense of the employees here, because as another poster said, it will be a blood bath. At least 6 months buys some time.

Personally, if they can figure out a way to keep my seniority number and medical benefits, I would be glad to take the next year off without pay. I'm very much considering moving on for good, but the big catch is the medical. I can't get Tri-Care until I'm 60, and I'm only 48 now.
My grandfather taught me to never have a "job" ... "be an employee"... and do something I love, and look at MONEY / WEALTH as a general concept, instead of working for a paycheck. Thus I have, and am incredibly grateful for what aviation has made possible for me in my life. But I can satisfy every ounce of my thirst to fly in my little Super Cub in my spare time. I don't need pointy nosed jets or big airliners anymore to get off.
I do hope the best for everyone for whatever their situation is, and that's not limited to just the pilot group. So many great people involved in every aspect of this industry.

I applaud them for honoring job offers that were made. We're not exactly known for class acts around here so this was a refreshing change. Even if they do get furloughed they have a seniority number to come back to if they choose.
