I think you can only proffer for trips starting 5 days out, hence this cluster.

Quote: I would think they want the pile of pilots that are on reserve now to pick up open time through the proffer process. That is what I have been doing. I had a trip assigned for today, but I watched it disintegrate by the hour until it eventually dissolved into 2hrs of RDY. I’m sitting here at the airport right now typing this.
I can understand that, but then it should be ROT. There is nothing in the MOA or PPM that precludes us from picking up on days off. But look at me...pretending that anything we have in writing actually matters..

Also...your situation is the most "SkyWest" thing I've read lmao

not sure what you mean by that, but I think it’s safe to say that current circumstances are a little unique. So, if things are not really going by the book at the moment I think I may know why. Just grateful to be here and not dying in a hospital.

You give an inch they take a mile. I'll be patient to an extent but at some point I expect things to be done as they are supposed to. It's good that you are grateful, I am too. That being said, being grateful doesn't change having bills to pay.

As for this part, depends what you are referring to. But having your trips slowly disintegrate into RDY is a pretty 'SkyWest' thing to happen. Love it.

This might be an opportunity to drive home structuring a life around 75 hours of credit a month. It won't take long to build an emergency fund with the left over hours.

Nah, not necessary. Next time will be different. The airlines will never lose money again.

I don’t even pretend to know the ins and outs of CS or how trips get put together, but it seemed like the trip coming apart came from mainline. Initially, it was a 2-day trip with no deadheads. Then our first leg to BOI was cancelled. So now we needed to get to BOI to continue the trip. The trip changed to 2 DH’s to BOI through SEA. As I monitored things from home I saw the SEA flight get cancelled on the mainline travel website. Now we pretty much had no way of flying the first day of the trip without duty issues. And then the CA and I ended up with RDY. We were both LCR, he weaseled out of his assignment I had to go to mine. My car needed the exercise I guess.

Quote: If you missed it, all the DL and AA flying for April is in open time and all crews are on RSV.
How is SkyWest handing the United and Alaska flying? I would imagine the way they are handling DL and AA is the smartest.

UAL essentially just canceled all LAX and SFO flying for the time being so...

UA and AK flying was submitted and awarded in the bid, yesterday it was announced all LAX and majority of SFO UA flying has been XCLD.
