Quote: What are you guys so bummed about. I just saw that our D:00 is up a bit. I’m sure an appreciation certificate from O. C. Tanner is right around my corner. Come on, look at the bright side.
Do we still get our turkey voucher this year? Boy am I sure going to miss those...

Quote: Those are the good memories I have from xjt! Greatest airline training I have had hands down. Definitely a very dedicated training department. Miss those great overnights in Mexico, flying the short jet all over Texas was fun, all the interesting characters as you mentioned above, FOs being arrested for stalking, chief pilots sending emails about pilots who left to tran states for DEC positions to make you think twice about making the lateral move.

Still remember hoping in those 15mins after block in crew trackers would not make their appearance on the jetway on day 4.

Those BRO overnights had the great taco place behind the hotel, good times over there!

Damn shame, but knew sooner or later it would get the axe. I can only hope at some point everyone can find employment quickly, especially those with families who have built their life around xjt.
Fo’s being arrested for stalking? Wtf lol

EWR F “Felony” parking lot. Not to be confused with the event where the guy died in the same lot, or my car that was being broken into while I was approaching my car and had a confrontation with the guy.

And to add to memory lane, how about the JetBlue flying that we did in 2007 out of JFK. We also bailed out Frontier/Lynx in the same timeframe. Our temporary LAX flying in 2007- was also just a planned stopgap to hold gates for another delta regional who couldn’t do it for a while because of a contract clause. Recently we have bailed out the other regionals that can’t perform. I guess we’re like a hooker - we fill the gaps on demand but then get kicked to the curb.

I spent just over a decade at XJT. Over 9 years of it in the left seat. Enjoyed it tremendously. Heart breaking to hear. Good luck to everyone.

I figured he was talking about this one from 2015:

PHOENIX - An airline pilot is accused of stalking a flight attendant and pepper spraying her inside her car in Tempe.

John Phillip Rovenstine, a pilot for Express Jet Airlines, followed the victim, a flight attendant for American Airlines, from an employee parking lot at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to a home in Tempe on March 30, according to court documents.

He then allegedly used pepper spray on the victim and began searching for her car keys in an "apparent effort to start the vehicle and leave with her," documents said.

The victim yelled for help and later told police the pilot tried to silence her screams by placing his hand over her mouth. A neighbor heard the woman's screams and stepped in to help, according to documents.

Records say the woman told police she feared that the man planned to rape or kill her

Rovenstine fled the area before police arrived, according to documents, but later contacted police to "give his side of the story." He told police he wanted to take the woman somewhere private, but did not intent to hurt her.

He was arrested and later charged with stalking, unlawful imprisonment, and assault.

Paperwork indicates that Rovenstine is from Texas and met the victim through a former roommate. He reportedly told the victim via social media that he "sees her as a great potential wife."

Express Jet declined to comment on whether or not the pilot was still able to fly with the airline, citing company policy against discussing personnel issues.

Calls to a recorded jail hotline indicated that the pilot had been released.

The pilot's next scheduled court date is April 7.
