Australia and New Zealand are ‘down under.’ It is summer there. This graph shows their normal flu season which is very different than ours:
COVID is a NOVEL Coronavirus and we have no good idea what it’s seasonal variability might be, but most respiratory viruses have one. Comparing our midwinter numbers to their midsummer numbers might very well be just as inappropriate as comparing our flu season to their flu season. They peak at very different times.
