Quote: You'd have to travel back several decades and ask him. Let me know what you find out.

How did you just out of nowhere choose Amish? You see my point?
Exceptionally obvious religious membership based on style of dress as an aspect of religious observance. I mean, the number of people who would dress like an Amish person but not actively practice their faith and lifestyle is fairly small.

Which is entirely irrelevant, as I said nothing about being, or appearing Amish. You assumed, without even the ability to see me. Perhaps you don't get the point.

You made assumptions without so much seeing. You question the MAF pilot who made assumptions. You still don't get the point, do you?

And no, I neither look, nor dress in any fashion that might lead anyone to assume, or even guess that I am Amish. It's also irrelevant.

Good luck with your (nonjudgemental) missionary quest.

We're talking past each other. Let me try again. First off, I don't think you're Amish. The fact that we're chatting via the internet might be a good clue as to how no one here assumes you're Amish.

I'm confused by your story. I don't understand how this pilot you interacted with just took a look at you and determined that you were not of the appropriate faith. I asked if there was anything about your style of dress or outward appearance that would lead him to that conclusion. Maybe his faith is white supremacy and you look black or latino, I have no idea. Since you seemed to be confused by this question, as to how anyone's faith could be apparent just from looking at them, I used Amish as an example.

I'm sorry you had this weird experience. Thanks for sharing.

I worked at a summer camp of a religious organization many years ago. I was arranged there by my friend, who also worked there part-time. We were counselors for two shifts in August. The conditions were good, and most children and organizers were kind.
