Any insight on what the new hire training schedule looks like? 2 months in CLT? Any home study? Ask Sims in CLT?

Roughly 12-16 weeks ish. The training management is doing their best to keep it short.

Indoc, 5 days in Charlotte

12 days Home study: Computer based training on systems; memorize limitations, QRH items, initial “scans” (setup items), flows, and a few other items that set up success when procedures training starts.

2 weeks in Charlotte (weekends off), non-aircraft specific items; systems details, intro to the FMS

Procedures and sims scheduled as they figure out where and when availability happens. Roughly 5 days of each with weekends off. We were advised a brake before each is possible, but efforts are done to keep the off time short.

Sim locations are CLT, ATL, DFW, PHX. You are permitted to ask for a preferred location.

I was 12 weeks through sims and 20 weeks before hitting the line. Started class in January.

Have no clue what times are going to be with class sizes being much larger.

IOE instructors are ****ed. The company hasn’t been paying them like they’ve been supposed to since the new pay rates went into effect. That may stifle some extra work being done to speed things along.

2 weeks to 6+ months depending on your background, their interest, and who you have on the inside with hookups in HR who can get someone to look for your application when it falls through the cracks or airlineapps filters hold it up.

Thank you, Otterbox.

I had read about their schedules being inefficient, 11-12 days off for eternity, for the most part. Do the schedules normally include lots of sitting around at the airport for hours at a time between flights, or long overnights?

Whenever I’ve viewed Piedmont flights on flightaware there is very little activity at any given time.

Generally short overnights and sits in between flights.
