Quote: Gotta be over 55 years old for retirement benefits to matter anyway.... You could have 30 years in and quit at age 54 and get nothing....
Or, you could retire with 19 years at 56 at a regional, with pass travel benefits, then have the benefits revoked by Delta. The point is this; don't work any regional job in order to attain retirement pass travel benefits, especially Delta. The history of those benefits being revoked is terrible.

They are not transferable even if you came from a Delta regional.. All you get if you come here as a Captain is up to 10 year pay scale… and sit reserve forever! You start over as far as anything else!

How about a $1,000,000 bonus, 5 year commitment, paid upon signing. Get your pilots locked in before mainline rates go up along with the then newly increased desire to go there. Solve the regional pilot leaving for mainline problem until the supply pipeline fills up.

I'd probably take that deal.
They would have to pay it to everyone on property .That would be quite the investment. Certainly would be nice . I think their most inexpensive way to solve all issues is go back to the way it was from the 60’s to the early to mid 90’s and all 70 seat Jet flying and higher is all mainline .

Quote: So if you have been there 8 years don't expect to get retirement flight benefits after 2 more years, it does not matter how many times you flew Delta Tails for 9 years! They want 10 years in a row. If flight benefits in retirement is important to you, stay where you are and demand your union reps get off their asses and get you the pay you deserve.
IDK how long you’ve been in this business, but just cause you vote no, doesn’t mean you can steer 6,000-10,000 other voters to vote no. After 25+ yrs, 4-5 “no” votes on TA, you come to realize, your best solution is to start side business, getting you a super majority in decision making.

Intent is NOT to start mud slinging contest. Only to state the obvious. RLA is rigged against Unions. Only need to look at todays signing by Biden (“pro labor” Pres) against Railway Unions. Over 100,000 laborers voted down contracts that didn’t include paid sick time off in CV-19 world…wtf? RLA legislation, Congressional and Presidential signature makes it “illegal” for job action. Morale of story: create your side gig business, use airline job to fund your venture, get financial “width” via multiple income streams.

Spirit is hiring pilots with 1500 hours in a C-172 and zero college. They get a interview one hour after they apply.

Seriously?? We have reached this point already? I would be curious to see how many with this experience make it with just 5 sim sessions...

The Airbus is actually easier than the RJ9 and some of the Turboprops I used to fly were actually harder than most jets , especially on V1 cuts . I’m happy for these young kids today . They have many more great opportunities sooner than us old farts did . I would just be stoked if we could finally get the profit sharing we should be getting .

To be fair, In 2016/17 spirit was hiring regional pilots that were only FO’s for 3 months or so on the line, and then booted for alcohol issues. So there’s that.
