So long as Robin is at the helm I don’t think leather jackets will be back, nor will the Karbon be approved. Last system chief pushed for it and got shot down.

Seriously? You believe he would stop a multiBILLION dollar deal over uniform items that other major airlines allow their pilots to wear? Really? After having already invested millions in the deal?

If you think a union will hold up a JCBA because of a uniform item a CEO dislikes, while doing so would withhold a lot of gains for their respective pilots, you’re high.

I do think there will be a slight rebranding and uniform change because it’s due, but I don’t think the CEO will bend over to the pilots for their wishes.

Quote: Better yet, has anyone at B6 talked about ditching the blue shirts in favor of white with the merger? How's the overall pilot group feel about getting rid of blue shirts?
I asked at a pocket session. I got the impression it’s coming…

Quote: The composition of the uniform is not included in the contract, to my knowledge; it's likely a "business decision". Could they use some negotiating capital to get us specific uniform items called out in the contract? Probably. Is it worth it? Probably not.

That said, why would they ever take away the leather jacket? I'd like a nice, warm jacket I could wear in uniform or on overnights. But here we are.

Well I have hear two things one it was our former CP Paul H who didn’t like them or our current CEO

No they probably wouldn’t. But you think the company would hold up the merger and all of the things that come along with it because Robbin does not like a jacket?

Also being as respectful as possible he is the last person that should be talking about image or uniforms.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but I don’t think the merger would get held up by either party over non-contractual uniform policy manual items. Especially with these two unions.

Although now that I think about it, I could totally see them saying well, profit sharing polled low, and beards and karbon jackets and white shirts polled high, so we at least got the jackets and white shirts for you guys. But profit sharing will have to wait til next time.
