Quote: A lot of original Aviate people aren't happy since the change will keep them here longer if they stay. Seeing how some people have been in the program for years it's extra frustrating for them to see the goalposts moved suddenly. A little correction to some stuff I've read above, but previously to flow it was 2000 hours and 2 years at the company or 1500 hours and 2 years if you upgraded. The 500 PIC thing is new and applies if your projected flow date is not before or within 4 months of March 2024. If your flow date is within that time, you can be a single hour off Captain OE and be eligible to flow as it was previously. The new 500 PIC rule pretty much adds another 6 months minimum at the company for a lot of people.

The bigger issue I would say is our "industry standard" pay and work rules. We've had FOs previously in Aviate leave to an LCC and interview after a year end up with class dates at UA. A year at F9, NK, or WN definitely sounds like a better, faster, and more secure experience than sticking it out here...
Getting Scheduling to adhere to the rules we already have would be a great start.
