I can not even respond to this idea without sounding like a cynical old douch So,please help me out.Years into an accelerated negotiations we come up with this idea? What past performance of the company or union gives you confidence that this will lead to industry leading pay?

If this idea originated with our NC, then they have either jumped the shark, or they have Stockholm syndrome.

Either way, they need to be replaced.

Call your reps. Tell them no.

. None and…..NONE. Part of me wants to say just put it put for a vote with what they have so we can move on, recall the negotiating committee and start fresh. But, the realistic side of me says that they aren’t because because they know there’s a decent chance it will get passed no matter how ****ty it is.

The only carrier I know that had or has a tiered pay plan contingent on corporate performance is Allegiant. We do our jobs professionally and should be compensated for that work. The level at which we perform does not affect profit margins in the way that management performance does. Our performance affects the bottom line only if we make a smoking hole in the ground.

I do NOT want management controlling my pay rates outside of section 6 negotiations.

If our NC proposed this idea then they should be recalled. Anyone supporting this idea should be recalled. I can’t attend the April 5 rally, but I will be at the April 18 Joint Council meeting to make my voice heard. I suggest everyone opposed to this idea email your reps and attend the joint council meeting.

None, you're not cynical. This is an absolutely absurd idea. My only hope is our NC shared the idea with us because they want management to see nothing of this nature is even remotely acceptable to us as a pilot group. And well, if our NC thinks this is a potential good thing, United ALPA last year set a pretty good example of what happens when your NC and MEC is disconnected from the true interests of the pilot group they are serving.

Negotiator's Notepad Update 29 March 2023
Here’s the full email

“Yesterday we completed three days of mediated negotiations. The Company made modest moves concerning pay rates and the amendable period recovery payment. With the mediator’s assistance, we spent the remainder of the session developing and discussing a concept designed to create momentum on compensation. The concept discussed would allow us to achieve increased pay rates based on specific economic performance metrics of FedEx Corporation, but significant work remains prior to our next session. We made it clear the concept is not a substitute for acceptable guaranteed rate increases.
The window and opportunity to close a deal at the bargaining table are diminishing rapidly. Pending confirmation with the mediator, additional bargaining dates have been provided for the week of April 10th in Atlanta. There are no further dates on the calendar. FedEx can and must move to close out bargaining without any further delay. Anything else indicates FedEx Management does not intend to provide a ratifiable deal at the bargaining table.
The path is clear and our options are limited. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming pilot rally and informational picketing event in New York City.”

No, it did not. It said that they were “developing and discussing” it.

Call your rep today. Ask them if the NC is taking this seriously and thinks this might be a good idea. Ask them if there are MEC reps in favor of this.

I did not specifically ask if this idea came from our NC. I should have asked that question, sorry. However, they did say it was worth exploring. No, it is not.

Mine said yes to both questions.

I asked them if they were personally in favor. Mine said no way.

I repeat, call your rep. We need to reach the reps who think this is a good idea. If they would vote yes for a TA with this in it, they need to be recalled.

Call your rep and tell them what you think, or "the train will already have left the station".

Everyone must call your rep!

As Nightflyer just said, contact your Block Rep today.

This needs to be stopped now.

We cannot continue to give this NC the benefit of the doubt, it will cost us.
