Envoy Airlines Recruiter

Hi guys,
As far as I know most regionals, including Envoy, sponsors ATP-CTP for those who need it. I have ICAO ATP so I’m one of those who needs ATP-CTP. And I know many pilots with ICAO licenses got accepted and provided ATP-CTP by Envoy and also other regionals as long as they meet all the other requirements. The problem is Envoy’s recruiter keeps denying my application saying “Envoy doesn’t accept applicants with ICAO license”. I’m like “ bru there are many pilots at Envoy who had only ICAO license when they got accepted”. He don’t want to listen. Does this mean one recruiter, who doesn’t know what he is doing, can stand between me and my dream job? Or just because of him am I gonna spend thousands of $ for the course?
Any help please?……..thank you

I got a run around from few recruiters with Envoy, I would call the recruitment direct line and maybe another recruiter can assist you. Have you tried emailing them ? they are pretty fast with responding.

Do you PERSONALLY know of an individual who did this? Not saying there hasn’t been people hired, but why don’t you get your license converted first? Honestly, a quick google indicates a conversion will only get you a PPL. Right now there are enough pilots that have their FAA certificates applying that you being a special case is enough to get you side lined.

Did you convert your ICAO license to FAA? If not, you don’t meet the minimum requirements.

In OP's defense, you can have a foreign commercial or ATP and take the same ATP checkride as FAA pilots. OP would get an FAA ATP just like everybody else. If OP were to be unwilling to do any testing/flying, then they would only be able to get a private. Foreigners can written test into instrument and checkride into commercial and ATP so long as they hold the equivalent foreign cert and meet the FAA's experience requirements. Matter of fact, you can be a 1500 hour foreign commercial pilot and checkride into an FAA ATP.

Can't speak to how special the case is or how much leg work Envoy is willing to do, but as far as the FAA certificate is concerned, it's a non-issue. The recruiter may be confusing having a foreign ATP with being a foreign pilot without right to work in the US.

OP, are you set on Envoy? I'm sure that across the pool of US regionals you could connect with a competent recruiter or two

I could/should have expounded on my response, without additional testing, as you stated. While just getting the ATP-CTP may be enough to qualify for the FAA practical, as Otterbox stated, Envoy requires the FAA certificate and as I pointed out, Envoy still has plenty of applicants who meet the minimum requirements. If you really want the job, you’re probably going to have to test into the FAA commercial prior to applying.

Who knows how much time, if any, Envoy management or recruiters spend on here, but people gotta be careful in how they voice their frustrations in a public forum. While the original rant wasn’t obscene, it could have been a bit more professional given the fact enough detail was provided that it wouldn’t be difficult to identify who this applicant is and stamp his file with a permanent “do not hire”.
