Good luck! AFPC will probably laugh at you for asking.

The Air Force is paying the current year group $125k to stay in for 5 more years or $125K to get out. The AF is looking for ways to get rid of guys. I wouldn't be surprised if AFPC is handing out assignments hoping people would 7 day opt out of it and give the AF an excuse to separate them. A friend of mine turned down ACSC, after he specifically said he didn't want to go to school, and they told him he has to separate by 1 September. This guy wanted to stay in for 20 years, but like I said, they are likely looking for ways to get guys out.

They're giving the bonus and the VSP to the same year group? I've heard of manpower alignments to give a retention bonus to one year group because they are short and VSP to another year group because they are fat, but not both at the same time to the same year group. That's just madness!!! Don't tell the NY Times about that!

The question is why would anyone want to go AD when they're already in the guard/reserve?

"Wonderful"? You ARE being facetious right?
Pay is good...and a lot of them like being home at night...but I would take an ART job as the last possible job ever....I've remained a bum for 3-4 years vs being an ART....I have much more self respect :-)

Wait XJET FO - you ARE kidding...never mind :-)

Of course I'm kidding...I took the job at XJet to avoid being an ART. Some people actually like it though...like you said, the money's good.
