You are right where you want to be, congrats! I think that if the MD-11 simulator had cooperated we'd have been a lot further along in our hiring. May take a while, but you'll get in!!

Quote: O.K. a question. I interviewed on July 6th. Recieved a letter July 17th. The letter in part said: "Congratulations! After careful consideration and a final review of your qualifications a decision has been made to place you in our applicant pool. The pool is regularly reviewed with respect to consideration for future classes. You will be notified when a decision is made resulting a change to your status." It then pretty much said don't call us we'll call you. No drug test, no background check as far as I know. Does this mean anything concerning my status, or is no drug test and background check normal until they decide they want to place me in class? Just curious about the process and when I might expect more info about my status.
Congrats! The pool is shallow and you will get that letter soon. If you have someone who recommended you they can maybe help. Have them stop by the HR office and politely check on your status. I have heard too many stories of guys getting class dates very soon after this being done. Sometimes it doesn't work for whatever reason but you never know.

When you do get a class it will be worth the wait!

No recomendations to fall back on, I am just one of the lucky ones who got a call based on the new online application. I still don't have a clue how I broke the "secret decoder ring" code. I guess I have no choice but to sit back and wait. Thanks for the congrats and info about how the process works. I am pretty new to lurking on this board but it seems to be a great source of info.

August class info
Well, sounds like I am not the only July interviewee that is in the pool and anxiously awaiting a call for class. Has anyone been called yet for the Aug Class? I did see an earlier post on the drop for the class but not any information as to if it has been filled.

Congrates to you. Many wonder what the depth of the pool is. When you get to class find out and pass it along. Maybe I'll see you there. For everyone elses info since May 2005 I've been swimming in the pool along with 2 other's that I know of. (1 is mgm't). Talk about a wading long term! However that said the fishing in Anc is great. The weather has been awesome. The beer is cold and plenty at Humpy's, F street, Snowgoose to name a few watering holes. Once again its good to go brown.

I interviewed on July 31. From what I understood, The call was to set up the drug test and background info. He said to plan on the Aug 27th class if everything goes OK. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to pulling people out of the pool. I actually sat in that thing for 18 months back in '99 and then took another job before they finally called. The only thing I can see is that they have alot of people interviewing with int'l experience that maybe gets them a class date sooner? who knows. Good luck.

Sounds like a long time coming. I surmise that this was your second interview, although the first had positive results as well.

I interviewed on the 13th of July and recieved a letter congratulating me on the pool a week later. I have been in the pool less than a month and obviously am very curious as to the average life span of a poolie.

Thanks for the information and hope to be either a classmate or underclassman of yours in the near future.
