Quote: Some words of advice from a current ERAU PRC student:

If you are going to go to riddle I would suggest going to a state school or community college and taking your general ed credits there (english/physics/math). The courses offered at riddle are pretty horrible and cost a lot.

It may also be a good idea to take a couple of flights at your local FBO before settling on this as a career path, throwing down 12+k for your first semester at Riddle only to find out you don't like flying would stink.

If I had the choice of weather to re-enroll in Riddle I probably would. But your going to have to do your homework make your own decision.

If I had the choice of weather.. it would be warm and sunny everyday!
Just givin' ya $hit

So, what is the point you are trying to get across?

No No No...Clear and cool, clear and cool. What's wrong with you!
You guys do realize that the original post is over 4.5 years old and the last one is 2 years old right?

Well, it looks like someone either has way too much time on their hands or discovered the search function (and used it) which also indicates an excess of spare time.

I like it when people bring up old threads, of course I don't want to read all 4 years of posts (that'd be boring and I have ADD), but what the hell, it brings us back to a time when things were different
Like any college, Riddle is as good as you make it. College is meant to teach you higher skills. Aviation doesn't care where you get an education and all that matters is you can accel in your field. For me, flying is the most exciting thing I've found. Management degree or Aeroscience (or otherwise), Riddle fit the bill. $190hr+ beats flippin burgers. But I'd rather be inverted any day. Think I'll go back to teaching aerobatics... and make the $$ driving a B-767-300 for fun.
Don't diss the ID. It's a joke.
Quick question to those who came from Riddle.....how many women did you interact with on a daily/monthly/yearly basis?

Paper or plastic?
Quote: Just currious, why do people think ERAU is the greatest school on earth? A continental rep once came to my high school as a guest speaker, and the only aviation school he knew about was ERAU. I just do not know why this school gets so much attention. If one was to major in aviation, is it really worth paying 45-55k/yr?

edik

PS
this subject is not about wither to major in aviation or not
Just my opinion, but.. just about every FO I fly with who has a hard time with people skills and/or stick and rudder skills has gone to Riddle.

This is not to say every Riddle grad has problems. Just seems easier to slip threw the cracks at that school. Maybe it's because mom and dad pay for it so the kids coming threw have no respect for the profession, or maybe youth these days have an entitled attitude in general.. I have no answers, just an observation and opinion.

I mentor pilots and I advise them to search all schools in there area. A motivated student at a part 61 school will out "fly" a slacker from a part 141 school any day. And I advise them to get a degree other than aviation.
