how much money does the first officer program at RAA cost?

and do international (canadian) students get an interview with one of their regional airline partners? their website is a little vague in regards to "international" students.

Being the dope I am, the one piece of info I forgot to get was the price for the FOS. I'd estimate it in the $10K to $15K region.

Do your research. Visit the schools. Get a feel for the faculity, fellow aviatiors, campus life. I recommend going with the school that you feel most comfortable with, if that is the decision and route you wish to take. It's your money. Spend it how you want to. If you are able to get the same level of trng @ a facility that will cost you 1000's less, do it. Explore your options!!!! [QUOTE=atpwannabe]Oxinatah:

I strongly agree. Go and visit a few schools before making a decision. It seems like every time someone posts a question such as yours, you get a bunch of people writing back stating how there school has the best program and most highly trained pilots out there. When in fact if you are looking for a regional job like most of us are, many different schools and programs are getting the job done just as fast. Good Luck!

Its 12.5k kinda expensive but they lowered the type ratting down to where you pay the same as you were 18.5k.

Beware of "recruiting"! I know I was fooled a little. But if I had to make the same choice again I probably would. Just maybe studied harder to get done quicker.

I know two Canadians that have come through. One works for Xjet. The other went to Colgan but I think he moved on to Chataqua.

I have to agree, i just graduated from Riddle and loved it there. It was expensive but I feel that it realy paid for itself. I am a flight instructor now and I am amazed with how many bad pilots are out there. The accelerated programs are like communism. They sound great but in reality it is a bad way to go. But that is just my own opinion and in some cases im sure some realy good pilots graduated from such programs. Sorry if i spelled wrong.. a little tired.

Stay away from regional airline academy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That school will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to go there. Take it from me I been there. That was the worst experience of my life. They milk you on everything . IF you can complete an instrument course quickly they will say oh no not good enough more time needed to milk that money. They say oh well get you hired in 600 or less BULL **** . THe staff & the owner is BULL ****. The type rating program is a joke. They want 18,500 just for the CRJ 200 type not including PREP or anyhting just the type! you can go to PAN am IN WASH DC and get it all for 9000 bucks out the door. If you leave before your training is complete they will bad mouth you to the airlines if you go elsewere. They try to completely run your life and its bull ****. I would highly recommend ATP's there program is a whole lot more organnized. I wish i would have known better. I cant stand the staff the owners nothing about the place at all. The quality of training is very poor and many young aspiring pilots chose regional b/c of the promises to someday be an airline pilot. Regional Airline Academy is a joke. They are now implementing a 142 program where you will be finished in 9 mnths and only 350tt and 25 multi and go to an airline. That is no real life experience by that time you are barely capable of flying a Seneca I or Duchess X crnty much less a CRJ. I was personally scammed out of 18,500 by them ! Take it from someone who has dealt with the selfish ****ers dont go there! any questions please feel free to contact me. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY

regional airline academy opinion
first off let me start off by telling you that I am a student of regonal and i'm 90% of the time not happy with it. In a previous reply some one wrote that it was like boot camp. Well i'm in the millitary and I can tell you that I get treated better there. Just as some one else wrote " I don't feel like a customer " regional need's to realise that we pay a whole lot of money to get " top notch training " but yet get treated like we owe them more. Are the beamer's they're driving around not enough. I know I'm sounding like just some other discruntal student that probally is not appling his self. We'll that's not true I've made the most of the training there and have completed every rating ahead of scheduel. Most of the training is verry good some instructers are great other's just can't make it in the airline's. Oh yea did I tell you that they do not give you the customer a choice in your instructer. We'll not me any how. I woul'd highly recomend going to some where like ATP. Cheaper and fast. we'll I hope that this has been informative and not just a bash at regional.
