I've been told by my buddy at NJ that they categorize the applicants by background, i.e 135, 121, military etc... Then they take the top 10% from each and invite them to interview. Lately, only around 50% of those interviewed are hired. This information came from their internal pilot message board so it's probably fairly accurate but I obviously can't say for sure. This may also explain why some folks get an interview within a few weeks and others wait for almost a year. It all depends where your experience stacks up against all the other resumes at the time.
