Gleim ATP vs ASA ATP prepware

Subscribe
Hello there,
I have an interview next week and I was wondering if anybody knows the differences between the GLEIM ATP book and the ASA ATP prepware/software. I have studied from the ASA ATP and took the ATP written with no problem, but I know that the written at the interview is going to be based on the GLEIM. Are the questionbank the same ?

thanks

From what I remember the question bank for both should be the same. From what I have noticed it is just a different layout for the questions. I would just study the format you have Spend the money on other things getting ready for the interview. You dont need to sweat the test too much, just remember to hit IFR regs/121 sections/aerodynamics and weather. (no matter where you are interviewing at.)

Thank you Skid.
You know, it is the apprehension of the first interview...

Both should have the same question bank. I actually had the gleim atp prep software and used it on my laptop. It worked really great. It had a lot of features such as it would remember the questions you got wrong and showed you a lot of statistics on what areas you needed more work with. If you are thinking about sharing the software with your friends, it won't allow you to do that. Luckily I passed the written test but now if I want to use it to study for interviews or what not I'll have to buy another copy.

I have used ASA software in the past and as you said it has a lot of cool features. I took the ATP written about three weeks ago, but I sweated it.. That test is a pain! Thankfully most of the interviews have no performance, charts, w&b.

Gleim's the way to go.

Hey, didn't I spend several posts defending your right to look at GoJets??

www.sheppardair.com, if you make less than a 90 send them a fax of your results and the program is free.

Also cuts the questions to study down by ~500.

I'd have to recommend _against_ the Gleim studyware.

Though the software itself is good, I've not been happy with the way they license it and their customer service attitude.

I bought the 2007 version to study for the ATPw, which I passed easily enough with the help of the program, but have since changed computers/upgraded hard drives a few times. The license allows you to activate the software twice.

Now, I am wanting to study again to prep for possible interviews, and was unable to install it on my present computer (even though it is installed nowhere else mind you). So I contacted their customer service. Their attitude is that it would be doing me a favor to make an exception.

In order to do me this "courtesy," I have to fill out, sign, and send back to them (fax or email scanned in copy) this "Computer Repair / Upgrade Affidavit" form they sent me stating how I upgraded my computer, and I have to attach receipts proving these upgrades to them!!! I am considering not even bothering - it's bs.

I mean, if I wanted to use their software illegally, I wouldn't have paid for it to begin with!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like to be treated like a criminal due to some copy protection scheme that only hurts legitimate buyers.
